Life Changes / New Direction

This year a lot of changes have come into my life. I had originally planned on doing a few farmers markets, but the more I thought about the direction that I want to go, I made the decision not to set up at the markets this year. However, I may do a pop up event and looking to do more of the indoor events in the later part of the year.

I started out behind with major sinus issues and my body was telling me to rest and I did just that. I also knew with the change of not doing markets that I could do things at a little slower pace. I do have another job, wife life and I love nothing more than spending time with my family. Then to add to that, I have grandchildren who make my world go around. I love every minute being with them.

I was finally able to wrap up my on-line shopping which was more challenging then setting up my website. There was more to connect and to make sure everything worked out as it should. I was able to launch just before the month ended in March. I know it may take some time getting this started and that's okay. It takes a lot to make so many products and to have ready for the markets. I don't feel rushed and I want to be sure that the products I make are made proper. My store will have what I have ready to go, other orders or request will be made at the time of order. I have cut down on supplies and not have a lot of bulk and moving to what I need to be able to manage inventory and product going out. Making the decision to go on-line will offer those who run out of product(s) and can easily order on-line. For local orders I can meet you at a location and deliver your order to you, others can be shipped out. I have been so blessed by all of my customers and those that keep coming back, I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate you. When I first started my business, I had no idea what was in store for me, how long it would last and 4 years later... I am amazed.

To my husband, I am so thankful for him as he has helped in throughout this journey and I am so thankful for him. He has helped me load up the car, unload, set up at events, sit through some events and has just been there for me. I am very grateful to have his support.

To my family, they have also been big supporters as well and I have had them come out with me to events and help. A huge shout out to them! They have also been my testers of my products to give me the honest feedback even when it's bad or what they like and don't like. THANK YOU!

To my Heavenly Father, I couldn't do any of this without you. Your plans have been bigger and better than what I could have ever imagined. You started me on this journey and I have listened to my heart, listened to you on each step to take. I couldn't have done any of this without YOU. I am so thankful and blessed to have you in my heart and sole and to guide me through all of this. It has been tough at times but with patience it all works out.

Kicking off 2026

Changes in 2026

Wow, it's crazy to think that 2026 is here and already coming into spring. I don't know where time went. The start of the year has not gone as planned, but I'm trying my best to kick out my sinus issues and push through to get ready for this year. It's been a slow start for sure and I feel behind and now having to run a marathon to catch up. There is a lot going on and life happens. After the season in 2025, it ended in December, then it was the holidays and then here it is the first of the year. I have had to deal with my sinus issues since the start of the year. To be completely honest, there have been other life changes that have my full attention as well. First wife life and spending time with my husband. I do my best to keep everything balance and yet give everything the time that it deserves. Then, then there are the grandkids that are my world. I love nothing more than getting to spend any time that I can with them. With everything going on I need to re-evaluate and think about what and where I want this business to go.

I have had orders through out my off season and I appreciate each and everyone of you that has ordered. It is such a blessing for sure.

My vision or the direction I want to go with my business will to eventually do away with farmers markets. I have enjoyed every year and love meeting people, but the reality is my products are not weather friendly. It's a lot of time and money spent on supplies to make these products and I want them to be the very best when you receive them. The bath bombs can fade in the sun and I have also seen it turn the shrink wrap to yellow and it's then not a way that I want to display my products to sell to anyone. I have had to be creative and try to repackage them so that doesn't happen, but also to keep cost down so that I don't have to change my prices. I like to keep my prices reasonable but yet for me profitable. The soaps can also get sticky during transferring out of the house then to hot and humid weather and then back in the air conditioning when I get home. It has been a learning curve and packaging has been a battle for me. I have a certain look for each of my products and want them to be presentable and sellable. I am looking into other avenues for you to receive your products. I do have of course my website for you to check out, I do offer shipping to the tri-state area. I have my online shopping that I hope to have released by the middle of March. It has been a challenge to learn how to get it all set up correctly so that you have a smooth shopping experience. Please let me know if you have any issues. I also have something in the works, but more details on that later. I do have a plan once I have built up my inventory and can manage all avenues.

This has been an amazing journey, one that I could have never dreamed of. It's been something of my own and I have not had that before. By no means will this be something that will be full time. I only wish what I know now, I would have known years earlier in life. It may have been something. It takes a lot to run a business, and I don't have to go into all of that, but I can say that I did it and have loved every minute of it. Who knows what's to come, at some point this may fade out, but I will keep making products for my family as I have learned and definitely want to know what's going on my skin.

But for now... I will post on my page any markets that I will be at. I did make the decision to cut down on those. I really enjoyed only doing them part time last year. That was time to stock up, make what I need to for the next one. This year, if approved I will only have a few that I will be attending. I will keep you posted.

What's New

Hello!

It has been awhile since I created this website and made my first blog. There has been a lot going on. I am really busy getting my name out and meeting new people at markets. I have to admit, I still love this journey that God has put me on. I know that he has big plans and I can't wait to see what he has planned out.

There have been many changes, but however, my products still have the best ingredients, the cleanest fragrances I can use in my products. I have tossed out, or discontinued some of the fragrances that I have used in the past. I constantly watch the websites where I purchase my products, supplies and ingredients to ensure that I am using the best that I can in my products. I won't take any shortcuts and I will not use anything that I wouldn't use on myself.

It has been since 2020 that I stopped using retail products and it has been the best decision that I could have ever made. The saying goes ... it's never too late! I would have never ever been a label reader, but I find myself reading labels when I am shopping and it's not just the supplies that I order, but going into stores, even shopping for food, I continue to read labels on the food. I take the time to read so that I am more knowledgeable of what is in the products that I purchase.

Another change that I have made is my logo and branding. I have changed it each year, but I am finding out what I want people to know my name and know my products. I have had a vision but it has just taken time to finally get it to where I am really happy with it. It takes time, it's a work in progress and it's finding myself growing in my business. To look back at the very first time doing this I had no clue what I was doing. I have never built a website and knowing how it all works. I still don't know but hopefully you will start to see me in the Google search or other search engines.

I have changed out products and learning about what sells and what doesn't sell. I know that you can't make everyone happy or run with an idea that one person comes up with, but I do give it a lot of thought to see if it makes sense to continue to have it as a product.

There are some things that you will see at markets that you won't see online and vice versa. I want to be sure that I continue to love what I do and not to get overwhelmed and to make sure that I can put out the best products and to be sure to fill orders, which leads me to what's coming next. I have reached the point that my next step is to open up my website to shop on line. Please bare with me as I figure out this next step in the process. I'm excited to see if this will be a good thing to add to my website. I know it takes time for a new business to really get out there for people to know what to search for. I am just leaving it up to God to bring people to my website and to continue to grow.

I have added some new events for later this year. I can't believe we are nearing the end of 2025. It has been filled with many blessings. I not only have this business but a full time job, wife life and now we have grandbabies. WOW! They have most certainly changed my life and I am loving it. It has made me question as to if I continue to do this or if I still move forward. This year was a part time vending season for Downtown Lawrenceburg Farmers Market and I have still done well. I need to be sure that I can keep all of this balance out. As for now, I will continue to make my wonderful products and set up at markets. I may do more, but I'm looking at some other options to sell. Stay tuned, keep checking back at my website for updates.

My First Year as a Small Batch Business Owner

My first year in business.

I started my journey in 2020 learning about essential oils. I was surprised at myself for how interested I was in this. My sister has been my inspiration throughout this whole process. If you would have asked me years ago about starting a busy, I would have thought your were crazy. Here I am. As years come and go so quickly I want to enjoy life to the best that I can and that means taking care of myself. Years past I would have never thought about what I put on my skin and now I find myself more and more trying to make better and healthier choices. After lots and lots of research and reading about what all of these oils can possibly do, I started to make bottle rollers to help me sleep at night and then it was for bug bites that itch like crazy and I needed something to help with my sinus and allergies. I am not claiming to say that these work on everyone and that they magically heal or help. I have found a few things in all the experimenting that I have done that haven't worked as well. I keep looking to try to find something that helps me. After sometime of using the oils I then had some fun first experimenting on how to make wax melts. They were fun and I could make them look pretty and smell really good too! I learned that the wax that I was using wasn't the cleanest wax to be using and I had a hard time making candles that would burn like they should, so that ship sailed quickly. I then went into soap making and from there it has led me to all that I have going on now.

Last August I wanted to see what it would take for me to set up locally to try and sell my products. Well I went all in and through everything that I needed to do and that led to opening my own business up. There was a lot to think about and how to juggle everything that I have going on in my life. With a full time job and still working full time, I then come home and work on my business. In the first few months I sold to family and friends and they all told me that my products were good enough to sell. I had some repeat customers and most of all, I really enjoy making these products. Now I can say that it isn't always a good day or it goes as planned. I have had plenty of mistakes and having to start all over on a product. That is all a part of learning. I can tell you that I have learned so much and continue to learn.

Selling online is difficult as there are so many companies that sell soap, many have been doing this for a number of years. Here I am feeling like I'm late in the game, but I'm going to give this my best shot. I know that my Lord Jesus Christ has me on this journey for a reason and I plan to see what he has in store for me. I didn't have any goals or expectations as I had no idea what I was in for. I started joining groups on social media that are doing this very same thing and I have learned so much from them and their experiences. I have found that social media just isn't my platform to succeed in selling online. I had to venture out to the public so that everyone can see, smell and try out the free samples of some of my products. I was accepted to one of the local farmer's market and I was so surprised at the feedback that I have received from those that have bought something from me, my booth and how they really love my set up and my presentation. I was blown away and it made me feel good and that I am doing just what I need to be doing. Now, I know that every market isn't going to be a good day, but even one sale makes it a good day for me. The season is scheduled for every Saturday which started in June and will run through October. I wasn't sure that I would have product to keep up and to have to sell. Working late nights after supper I have managed so far. It is hard to believe that it has already been a year. I can also tell you that it's not a good day when bad weather is on the radar as my products do not like the rain. I have been in that situation a couple of times on just recently that I literally lost my tent, my bath bombs as they got wet and fizzing putting on a demo of how well they work. I had time to look back and ask myself all the questions of what if? and would it have been a different outcome, but you pick up, clean up and go again. This week I have had to regroup and be ready for the upcoming weekend.

After the vending season, I will be working on a few things and prepping for the next year. I have changed my logo to make it easier for certain projects and marketing and hope to have some new products out. I hope that the online sales will pick up as people won't be able to shop at the markets. I have also learned that I'm not able to accommodate to everyone. I have made a lot of things with many scents to try out and to see what is popular, but I will be scaling back as to how many scents and plan out as my soaps take six weeks to cure. It is definitely a time management skill to have to make sure that your products are ready to go. I will offer some scents year round and I will also have a couple to offer during the seasons and the holidays.
